ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in Herefordshire, I have been privileged to be surrounded by the countryside, appreciating animals and the countryside lifestyle. Owning and caring for animals from a young age has allowed me to understand and recognise the personalities of these creatures.
I take ordinary materials, such as magazines, and turns them into pieces of art. With a degree in Equine Behaviour and Welfare and a deep fascination for animals and art, I combine my passions, bringing them to life through a unique blend of sketching and paper layering. My work blends realism with playful abstraction, giving familiar animals a fresh, expressive voice while promoting sustainability through my choice of materials.
BENEATH THE PAPER
Each portrait begins as paper — torn, discarded, forgotten — and is reborn into something tender and whole. Lamira Studio’s animal collages are crafted entirely from hand-cut and layered pieces of magazines, creating richly textured works that celebrate the spirit, loyalty, and quiet presence of beloved animals. Every piece is both intimate and intricate — no two are alike — with fragments of the unexpected tucked into each layer. These artworks invite you to look closely, to find beauty in imperfection, and to see familiar faces through a new, soulful lens.
Where paper meets imagination - shop original collage artwork, now available as quality prints.
RECENT EVENTS
The first of the Christmas season was Julian Brown Home’s festive weekend. Lamira was included in a small selection of local stalls setup over the two days. A very successful event, really capturing Herefordshire’s countryside.
