ABOUT THE ARTIST

Willow Hammond is an artist who takes ordinary materials such as magazines and auction catalogues, and turns them into pieces of art. With a degree in Equine Behaviour and Welfare and a deep fascination for animals and art, Willow combines her passions, bringing them to life through a unique blend of sketching and paper layering. Her work blends realism with playful abstraction, giving familiar animals a fresh, expressive voice while promoting sustainability through her choice of materials.

BENEATH THE PAPER

Each portrait begins as paper — torn, discarded, forgotten — and is reborn into something tender and whole. Lamira Studio’s animal collages are crafted entirely from hand-cut and layered magazine pieces, creating richly textured works that celebrate the spirit, loyalty, and quiet presence of beloved animals. Every piece is both intimate and intricate — no two are alike — with fragments of the unexpected tucked into each layer. These artworks invite you to look closely, to find beauty in imperfection, and to see familiar faces through a new, soulful lens.

A NEW COLLECTION

With the constant evolution of popular trends and designs - Willow experiments with different medias, topics and focus points. She has also ventured into the world of acrylic painting, contrasting to the complexity of collage work, she looks at simple silhouettes of animals, combining these straightforward outlines with vibrant colours to create lively pieces that brighten up any room.
